Wake Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry is pleased to announce the winners of the Dr. Walter B. Parrish Scholarship for 2019! These scholarship recipients represent the the wonderful, giving spirit of the late Dr. Bo Parrish.
The winners of the Dr. Walter B. Parrish Scholarship are:
James Motter, a resident of Raleigh, NC who will be attending The University of South Carolina – Columbia.
Even Hernandez, who will be attending The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in the fall.
Samiya Hocut of Garner, NC is a lifelong patient of Wake Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, and recently graduated from Enloe Magnet High School.
The Dr. Walter B. Parrish Scholarship was established so that current and former patients of Wake Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry could compete for a chance for the award. Dr. Bo Parrish, one of the founders of Wake Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, believed deeply in living a life of strong ideals and service. He was a recipient of the Eagle Scout Award as a youth, and strived to live according to those principles throughout his life.
Funding of the Dr. Walter B. Parrish Scholarship was provided by Wake Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry. In order to apply and compete for the scholarship, candidates must be a current or former patient of both Wake Orthodontics AND Pediatric Dentistry, and must be either a current high school senior or be enrolled in college. Applicants are asked to identify any experience and explain how it affected their life and to explain why they want to earn a college education. After careful consideration and much competition, our three winners were chosen as recipients.
