MEET OUR ORTHODONTIC TEAM

OUR ORTHODONTISTS:

Randy Macon, DDS

dr-maconEach day, I come to work feeling incredibly blessed knowing that I have the opportunity to help change peoples lives for the better through practicing orthodontics. My patients are my passion, and I’ve always found such joy and reward in learning about them, gaining their trust, and helping them achieve the beautiful smiles they deserve and need. I am excited and thankful to build relationships with my patients that far outlast their time in braces, and this is what drives me to provide nothing but the best care for each person who comes to me for treatment.

dr-macon-family2My wife of 15 years, Pam, and I have one daughter whom we love chasing around from one cheerleading event to another. When I have some free time, I enjoy cycling, golfing, exercising, going to the theatre, and spending time at my Bible study. Staying active in the community is one way in which I can give back and help to better the lives of the people who have helped better mine. I volunteer often for both local and abroad medical and dental outreach missions, helping those who are less fortunate and otherwise unable to receive quality healthcare.

Mac Collie, DDS, MS

dr-collieOrthodontics is a natural fit for my love of studying faces and serving my community. However, beyond art, orthodontics allows me to study the growth and development of faces throughout a patient’s lifetime in three dimensions. Whether developing the growth pattern of a late childhood patient or preparing a middle age adult for much needed tooth replacement, the result is always a rewarding improvement.

dr-collie-familyI was born in Greenville, NC, but spent most of my youth in Wrightsville Beach, of course, on the beach. I have now lived in Raleigh for 17 years with my wife, Kim, a Chapel Hill native. We have three children, Mary Mac, Katharine, and Hugh, who are all unique and special in their own ways. We also have a little Westie who is playful, kind, and loved by everyone. Golf is my favorite sport and I try to play once a week. Another good place to find me is running in the neighborhood or exercising in the gym. I also enjoy tennis, basketball, and traveling with family. I am passionate about giving back to the community. I volunteer on a regular basis at an outpatient clinic at a local hospital called Wake Smiles and am involved in the Hayes Barton United Methodist Church.

“As an orthodontist, I must first build the trust of the families and patients that come into our practice. It is not until I gain this trust that I then am given the opportunity to make a significant impact in their lives by giving them a smile they are proud of. This is an enormous challenge and responsibility, but one that I graciously accept and enjoy. It is an intense feeling to know that the work we do in orthodontics can change a person’s life. This feeling motivates me to go to work every day with a smile on my face.”

Outside of the office, I take my role of wife and mother to heart. I adore my husband, daughter, and two vizlsas, and have a network of wonderful friends that our family enjoys spending time with. My hobbies include running, playing golf, pilates, cooking, being a home coach for my daughter in Suzuki guitar, volunteering, and traveling. It is important to me to strive to live a healthy and active life.

OUR TREATMENT COORDINATORS:

jenny-OTCJenny

Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator

I joined the Wake Orthodontic family in June 1995. It has been a pleasure to meet many wonderful patients throughout these years. I love helping patients feel comfortable and well taken care of at their new patient and consultation appointments. I also want to help our patients and parents understand their treatment needs, to answer their questions, and to help them feel well informed! One of the many reasons I have worked here for so long is because of the caring and ethical manner in which our orthodontists treat our patients. I am happily married and have a beautiful little girl. We love animals and have a cat and a dog. When I am not at work, you can usually find me spending time with family and friends, decorating cakes, running races, taking pictures, going bowling or to the movies, or at the beach.

Jackie

Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator

Jackie may look familiar to many of you.  She joined Wake Orthodontics in March 2008 as one of our orthodontic assistants in Garner and Smithfield.  In June 2018, she stepped into the role of Treatment Coordinator and loves it.  Her favorite part of her position is to welcome the new patients and make them feel comfortable and excited about their orthodontic treatment.  She admires the way that each of our doctors takes time with each patient and is always learning new things from them.

Jackie is happily married to Chase and has a son and daughter.   She loves supporting her husband as he coaches wrestling and baseball at a local school, watching her daughter at gymnastics, being involved in her church, and spending time with her family and friends.
